Vision4Life s a process which the United Reformed Church is following for 3 years from Advent 2008 through to Advent 2011. It is three years of focus on re-engaging with the Bible, Prayer and Evangelism with the purpose of bringing transformation to the URC and its partner churches. Take a look through the contents of the site using the menu above or select items from the Bible Year menu to the left. You can sign up to the process as a local church or join in the forums as an individual below. There is lots to discover and the site will grow week by week with resources, comment and news. Enjoy!

encounters in Mark's gospel a BRAND NEW resource by John Campbell
encounters in Mark's Gospel' brings you suggestions for a series of up to fifteen small-group conversations based on particular stories in Mark's Gospel. These conversations all share the same basic shape. They aim to help you, and everyone else in your group, to:
- build up your confidence in actively exploring bits of the Bible
- make connections between the biblical story and your own life story
- find fresh vision for the business of being human today

The Bible Year Materials
The booklet for the bible year of Vision4Life has been published and are now in the hands of churches. You can see a pdf format version of the booklet under the Bible Year Menu or by clicking here. It is full of initial ideas for engaging with the Bible but it is now up to you. We hope you will use the materials to start you off and also develop your own ideas throughout the year. More materials will appear on this site throughout the year so keep coming back. You can also download the videos for use with one of the studies in the booklet by clicking here.
If you require extra copies you will have to purchase these from the URC Bookshop (details here) at a cost of £2.00 each plus P&P. The bookshop has further details of quantity orders but please bear in mind that you should only need one of these per leader as they are designed as leader’s notes and not for every church member. There are also very limited further supplies. Alternatively they are all downloadable from the V4L website so you can print locally.
Using the Bible Year Materials
The process is designed to be followed throughout the year right up to Advent 2009, so this will leave plenty of time to schedule things into church diaries throughout 2009. You can get to the Bible Year materials by clicking here

Although all churches will now receive 2 copies of the basic materials, only signed up churches will receive the DVD with 3 short clips to go with one of the main course studies. BUT signing up is not just about getting something! It is about expressing joint support for a process which will transform the church. The more we do this in company with others, the more we express a shared journey together and invite God to do something amongst us as a denomination, and not just as local churches. DVD
This has now been mailed to all churches who signed up before 31st January 2009. If you signed up more recently the DVD will be with you as soon as we can arrange a fresh mailing which should be by the end of February.

using the menu on the left- Go to Bible Year.
- Then click Bible Year official materials
- Then click Bible Year Video clips
- On the page you are given 3 different clips in low or high resolution.
- To simply play the video, left click each one.
- To save them for use later, right click and click "Save link as" (in Firefox) or "Save target as" (in Explorer). You can then choose where to save your clip - in a folder you can easily return to. You can then play the clip in something like Windows Media Player.
